about
A fine trombonist himself, James Kazik, is well known among brass musicians. He has served as staff arranger at one of the premiere Washington D.C. service bands since 2001. His works, particularly those for trombone, continue to win acclaim both in the U.S. and abroad. His Quartet #3, a four-movement work, is sure to become a classic with its idiomatic writing that is both accessible and challenging. From broad sounds and lyrical melodies to driving rhythms and colorful glissandi, each movement highlights a specific characteristic of the trombone.
